After months of planning and preparing, we officially opened our first store in Johannesburg this past Friday, the 1st of December. What an incredible night it was, filled with unimaginable support, excitement and feedback.
Opening a store in Johannesburg has always been a dream for us- one that seemed unreachable due to our whole base being in Cape Town since our establishment in 2006. With great perseverance and a massive team effort, we have finally brought our beloved brand to your incredible city. We have been welcomed with open arms by all of our neighbouring tenants & colleagues- thank you so much for your support and love.
Our Rosebank branch was designed to transport you to Italy- from the product to the store design. Upon entering our store you will be met with 32 different options of Gelato to choose from- from vegan options, sorbets, sugar-free options and our full-cream options, the choices are endless. When choosing your Gelato, you will be mesmerised with the smell of fresh sugar-cones being made in front of you and a pouring chocolate fountain. Our seating options are endless- from big tables for families, to intimate pods. We also have a quirky “Instagram room” which is a private little section decorated with a Vespa on a cobbled street and an over-arching olive tree.
The best part: Have you ever wondered how Gelato is made? Well, the best part of our shop is the exposed window which allows you a view into our gelato laboratory where you are able to watch the Gelato being made and decorated in front of you! All of our products are made fresh daily and this window gives you a view into where all the magic happens.
How to find us: Our offering extends beyond gelato to Belgian waffles, pancakes, milkshakes, ice crush and drinks. We are located in The Firs in Rosebank and are open 7 days a week. Our store is easily accessible from the Firs Parking lot which is entered from Biermann Avenue. As you come up the stairs from the parking lot, you take a left turn and you will find us next to Niche on the left hand side inside The Firs.
